In something of a change of tune, the former Australian batsman has now described how the three have supported each other during their bans, and how he looks forward to playing with David Warner again...
Cameron Bancroft has come out in defence of himself and the others involved in the ball-tampering scandal and has admitted he looks forward to playing cricket with them again, as reported by AFP.
The 26-year-old has returned from his nine-month-long ban for his part in the scandal, and is now playing for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash.
In an interview with Adam Gilchrist aired on Fox Sports during their coverage of the Boxing Day Test, Bancroft gave added detail as to what went on.
"Dave suggested to me to carry the action out on the ball... I didn't know any better."

"Dave (Warner) suggested to me to carry the action out on the ball given the situation we were in the game," he said.
"I didn't know any better because I just wanted to fit in and feel valued really. As simple as that.”
However, rather than talking about the role others played in the scandal, he has now described how they have supported each other during their bans.

"We're good people, very honest and passionate people. Dave, like Steve (Smith), all of us, we've all gone through our challenges, haven't we?" he remarked to AFP.
"We've all been there for each other and I look forward to a day like that where I can go out and play cricket with Dave again. He's a quality cricketer and someone who's achieved so much in that cricket team.
"As a player like myself, you strive to be around players like that. For my own learning as a cricketer, I'd love for that to happen."
