The offspinner, who had earlier taken his 496th Test wicket, pulled up while fielding after tea on day two at Lord's
Nathan Lyon has given Australia an injury scare after limping from the field during day two of the second Ashes Test against England at Lord's.
The 35-year-old, playing in his 100th consecutive Test, was running in to field off the bowling of Cameron Green after tea when he pulled up sharply.
Clutching the bottom of his right leg towards his calf, Lyon immediately showed discomfort while gingerly making his way back to his position.
But it soon became clear he could not continue after a short conversation with the Australia physio on the outfield.

He started to make his way back to the dressing room under his own steam around the boundary rope but soon required support from a member of the medical team to complete the journey.
A Cricket Australia statement confirmed Lyon had indeed suffered a right calf injury and would be further assessed after the close. "A further update, if available, will be shared in the morning," it added.
The incident occurred on the day the off-spinner made Zak Crawley his 496th Test victim thanks to a stumping by Alex Carey.
This Test saw the New South Wales native become the sixth man, and first bowler, to bring up a century of consecutive outings in the longest format.

"That's something I'm really proud of," Lyon told cricket.com.au as the feat loomed.
"To be able to tick off 100 consecutive Test matches, that's a proper stat in my head.
"That's a lot of Test cricket, a lot of ups and downs.
"No wonder I've got no hair."
