Glenn McGrath, who has been among the broadcast pundits thus far, has also tested positive ahead of the Pink Test
Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley has tested positive for Covid-19.
He is said to have had no direct contact with players on either side in the ongoing Ashes series, but his case is the latest to hit the international game in Australia in recent days.
Hockley took a PCR test immediately after developing mild symptoms.
Of the two teams, only Australia batter Travis Head has so far tested positive, but England head coach Chris Silverwood is also in isolation after recording a positive test.
With Silverwood one of four England coaches missing, the tourists attempted to call upon former allrounder Adam Hollioake as an extra pair of hands, but that move was then thwarted when he was found to be a close contact of another person who had tested positive.

Match referee David Boon has also contracted the virus, while England's net practice was thrown into turmoil when one of the net bowlers was found to have tested positive.
Glenn McGrath, who has been among the broadcast pundits thus far, has also tested positive ahead of the Pink Test.
"Glenn has had a PCR test which unfortunately returned a positive result. We wish Glenn and his family good health," said Holly Masters, chief executive of the McGrath Foundation.
"We are hopeful Glenn will remain well and return a negative result in time to attend day three of the Pink Test, now known as Jane McGrath Day on 7 January."
