Jamie Smith was caught at mid-on off Mitchell Starc, shortly after reaching a half century, with England 150 runs short of a victory required in order to keep England's Ashes hopes alive.

England were 285 for 6, and Smith had struck four boundaries in a row, needing another 150 runs to pull off a world-record run chase, but his dismissal signalled the beginning of the end for any lingering hopes of a miracle.
