2:10pm (3:10am UK time): Good morning/evening and welcome to coverage of day three of the fifth and final Test in Hobart.

Well, yesterday was action-packed wasn't it?

Resuming on 246-6, Australia were all out for 303 before skittling England for 188 - less of a collapse and more a steady flow of wickets. Stuart Broad and co. then had 80 minutes to bowl and took three quick wickets as Australia closed on 37 for 3 with a lead of 152 runs.

Play resumes at 2:30pm (3:30am GMT) to make up for the lost overs on day one. Steve Smith and Scott Boland are the men in the middle for Australia.

2:30pm (19.1 overs, Australia 37-3): Broad kicks off the day (yet again) with a dot ball.

2:46pm WICKET! (22.3 overs, Australia 47-4): Boland (eight) departs after edging Mark Wood's short ball through to Sam Billings for his third Test catch. The nightwatchman did his job and is replaced by Travis Head. Australia lead by 162 runs.

3:05pm WICKET! (26.2 overs, Australia 59-5): Wood and Billings combine again! This time Head is the strangle victim, nicking Wood's short ball through to the keeper to depart for eight. Australia lead by 174 and Cameron Green comes in.

3:16pm WICKET! (28.2 overs, Australia 63-6): Wood has his third of the day and again the batter falls for the short ball. Smith is caught out by the straight bouncer, top edges his hook and picks out Dawid Malan at long leg. Smith departs for 27, Wood has 4 for 18, Australia lead by 178 and Alex Carey is in.

3:44pm WICKET! (34.1 overs, Australia 85-6): Carey extends Australia's lead to 200 with a crunching cover drive to the boundary off Woakes, the second of three consecutive fours for the batting side.

03:54pm WICKET!  NO BALL! (36.2 overs, Australia 91-6): The front foot no ball comes back to haunt England. Carey drags Woakes onto his stumps and starts walking off for 19 but the bowler has overstepped. Reprieve for Carey and Australia, who lead by 206.

04:26pm WICKET! (43.5 overs, Australia 112-7): A big celebrappeal from Broad for lbw against Green is turned down by umpire Paul Wilson. England review and it's crashing into the stumps. Green departs for 23 and Australia are into their tail. Australia lead by 227.

04:37pm REVIEW (45.3 overs, Australia 119-7): Another reprieve for Carey. He's given lbw off Broad but the review says it was pitching outside leg. Carey survives on 30 (61) and Australia lead by 234.

04:41pm WICKET! (46.1 overs, Australia 121-8): Mitchell Starc departs for one, nudging to Ollie Pope at short leg, and Wood has five. His name will be added to the honours step at Hobart. Pat Cummins is the next man in for Australia, who lead by 236. Just over 15 minutes until lunch.

04:44pm REVIEW (46.2 overs, Australia 121-8): Cummins is given out lbw for a first-ball duck but the review shows the delivery is missing off stump. A lovely yorker but no sixth wicket for Wood (yet).

05:00pm LUNCH (50 overs, Australia 141-8): Carey finishes the session with a four as Broad's final over before lunch costs 11 runs. England have taken five wickets for 104 runs but Australia's lead is 256 and climbing. Carey is 40 not out off 69, Cummins has 12 off 18.

05:40pm (50.1 overs, Australia 141-8): Play resumes after lunch and it's Wood with ball in hand.

06:03pm WICKET! (55.1 overs, Australia 151-9): Agony for Carey who goes for 49 (88). He's caught behind by Billings off Broad to bring in last man Nathan Lyon. Australia lead by 266 runs.

06:10pm WICKET! (56.3 overs, Australia 155-10): Wood has the final say of the innings, bowling Cummins for 13. Australia are all out for 155.

Wood finishes with career-best Test figures of 6 for 37, Broad has 3 for 51, Woakes 1 for 40 and Robinson 0 for 23. Carey, with his nine lives, top-scored for Australia with 49 with Smith scoring 27 and Green scoring 23.

England need 271 runs to win.

06:20pm (0.1 overs, England 0-0): Starc has the ball in his hand at the start of England's chase and gets a dot ball.

07:01pm (8.6 overs, England 47-0): England have their highest opening stand of the series and Crawley brings it up in style with a four off Cummins. Burns is motoring on 18 off 27, Crawley has 21 off 27 and England trail by 224.

07:12pm REVIEW (11.1 overs, England 50-0): Big shout from Boland for lbw against Crawley but Paul Wilson again turns it down. Australia review it but it's umpire's call.

07:28pm REVIEW (14.4 overs, England 64-0): Australia review Burns caught behind but despite a small spike on Snicko, there's a clear gap between bat and ball. England trail by 207.

07:38pm WICKET! (16.1 overs, England 68-1): Green makes the breakthrough! Burns chops on and has to depart for 26. Tea is called and England are 68 for 1, trailing by 203 runs.

08:21pm WICKET! (20.5 overs, England 82-2): Green has his second and England are 82 for 2. Dawid Malan had looked jittery since tea and deflects the ball onto his stumps to depart for 10. England trail by 189.

08:30pm WICKET! (22.2 overs, England 83-3): Green is all over England! This time it's Zak Crawley who attempted drive becomes an edge and is captured by a diving Carey. England trail by 188.

08:57pm WICKET! (27.5 overs, England 92-4): Ben Stokes is the latest victim of the short ball. He tries to hook Starc but it falls short of the boundary into the hands of a diving Lyon at deep square leg. Ollie Pope comes out to bat with England trailing by 179 runs.

09:18pm WICKET! (31.4 overs, England 101-5): It's Boland! Two balls after breaking his bat, Root departs for 11 as a low one from Boland crashes into the stumps. England trail by 170 with five wickets remaining.

9:35pm WICKET! (35.1 overs, England 107-6): Billings depart for one with a fairly lame chip to mid-on. Boland has his second and England are rocking. Root's side trail by 164.

09:42pm WICKET! (36.2 overs, England 107-7): Pope is bowled round his legs by Cummins and it's all turning quite ugly for England. They require 164 runs (and a miracle) to win.

09:50pm WICKET! (37.6 overs, England 115-8): Boland can do no wrong! Woakes gets a thick outside edge and Carey takes a one-handed diving catch to complete the dismissal. Carey has had a very good Test with the gloves and may have secured his spot in the XI for another series at least. England trail by 148.

09:53pm WICKET! (38.3 overs, England 123-9): Mark Wood is bowled by Cummins and this series is one wicket away from completion. If you're interested, England trail by 147 runs.

09:56pm WICKET! (38.5 overs, England 124-10): And that's a wrap. Cummins bags Robinson for a duck and the Ashes are over. To think England were 68 for 0 and talk briefly turned to victory...
