Its sad to see how Bairstow has struggled this series after everything he has gone through in the last year. Fit and keeping regularly he isnt far behind Carey as a keeper (Carey has had plenty of shockers too), but his injury (and lack of match practice) looks to have really affected him. Its clear you've never liked Bairstow, George, so seeing him struggle like this must be very pleasing for you. Professional sport can be cruel, with Bairstow absolutely dominating a year ago, with a secure place in the team and fans starting to appreciate his talent, only to sustain that injury which then subsequently flowed into the selection dilemas England have faced and an about turn from many of those converted fans.. None of it is really Bairstows fault, he just wants to do his best for England.
