Afghanistan seamer Gulbadin Naib has issued an extraordinary ultimatum threatening to reveal the players and administrators who he says conspired against him during the World Cup.

The 28-year-old was bizarrely installed as one-day international skipper for the tournament just two months before it began, replacing Asghar Afghan.

He oversaw a woeful campaign which saw the Afghans lose all nine of their Super 10 matches.

Rashid Khan was given the leadership role across all formats in the wake of the tournament but has now been replaced by Afghan.

In an incredible outburst on Twitter, Naib - who has represented his country in 65 ODIs and 45 T20Is - says members of the Afghanistan Cricket Board and some teammates attempted to undermine his tenure.

Naib has demanded action against these individuals and if reprimands are not forthcoming he has promised to publicly vilify them.

"My dear Afghans, the main reason why I went public is not because I have a personal grudge against player or the board," he wrote.

"I am going to reveal every person's identity involved in corruption and other misconducts and betrayals against our national cricket and its people.

"I know most of you may ask why have I not spoken publicly against these people/mafia circle before.

Asghar Afghan is back as Afghanistan captain

"I have been sidelined and promised, by the authorities and other stakeholders that they will sort the mess in the cricket team and promised immediate changes & banning of this circle

"The same circle have access all the way to some high-level government officials, who have influence over the cricket board and management.

"Some blatantly admitted to the board that they were not performing as they were supposed to during World Cup because of my captaincy.

"Has anything been done about such betrayal? For public interest, if the authorities don’t take appropriate actions, I will publicly name & shame every single one from gov officials to board members, players and ex-board and management members. Stay tuned. Long-life my beloved."
