Marsh has sustained a low-grade hamstring strain, and was not included in the Renegades' matchday squad for their Big Bash clash with Hobart Hurricanes at Marvel Stadium on Saturday (January 7)
Melbourne Renegades have received a second injury blow in a matter of days, with the news Shaun Marsh faces a spell on the sidelines.
Marsh has sustained a low-grade hamstring strain, and was not included in the Renegades' matchday squad for their Big Bash clash with Hobart Hurricanes at Marvel Stadium on Saturday (January 7).
The club expected the Australia international to make a recovery in time to feature at some point in the remainder of the competition's group stages, but his absence will be unwelcome at a time when the Gades are losing several players.

Captain Nic Maddinson is out for the rest of the campaign with a ruptured ACL, while overseas spinners Mujeeb ur Rahman and Akeal Hosein will both play their final game of the season against the Hurricanes.
The pair are relocating to the ILT20, where Mujeeb is part of the Dubai Capitals setup for the tourament's inaugural running and Hosein is in the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders squad.
Add Marsh's absence into the mix, and the Renegades - who have won four and lost four of their eight matches this term - face the challenge of filling several holes.

Marsh has only made three appearances in 2022/23, contributing 95 runs at 32s. He has been striking at a modest 106.
The Renegades have added experienced leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed to their squad as a replacement player for Marsh.
"Fawad is a proven performer around the world, with our overseas spinners departing after this match we're pleased to sign a player of his calibre to complement our current bowlers," general manager James Rosengarten said.
