Aesthetically, several of the testers were impressed with its traditional design and feel.
Ultimately it was the effective way it gave testers value for their shots which left a lasting impression.
Alex Tudor observed that he felt he never had to overhit the ball and Huw Turbervill noted the size of the middle. Indeed, the large sweet spot which ensured the ball travelled well regardless of the contact point was something several testers raised.
Described as being "perfect for big hitters" this certainly played out as the testing day unfolded.
One student observed: "I think wherever you hit the ball it pinged off really well. It doesn't matter if you can't find the exact right spot to hit the ball because wherever it goes it comes off hard and you hardly need to use much power."
Among the drawbacks were the skinniness of the blade and its weight at 2lbs 8oz which started to take its toll after a handful of hits.
