Hobart: Melbourne Renegades 126-6, Adelaide Strikers 129-2 - Adelaide Strikers won by eight wickets

Scorecard

Adelaide Strikers made it two wins from two WBBL07 outings as Melbourne Renegades were dispatched with ease in Hobart.

The Strikers romped to an eight-wicket victory with 15 balls to spare in the chase, as Sarah Coyte led the way with the ball and Tahlia McGrath continued her excellent form with the bat.

Coyte was the destroyer-in-chief during the Renegades' innings.

The 30-year-old claimed the wickets of Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham and Jess Duffin on her way to figures of 3 for 20 from her four overs, as Melbourne were only able to scramble to 126 for 6.

Melbourne Renegades could only manage 126 for 6 against Adelaide Strikers

In an impressively disciplined bowling performance, only two of Strikers went at more than a run-a-ball. Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored for the Renegades with 41 from 37 balls and Eve Jones added an unbeaten 36 but otherwise no batter passed 13.

The target proved to be wholly insufficient.

Dane van Niekerk and Katie Mack put on 35 in four overs at the start of the reply, and when they were both dismissed in the space of nine balls, McGrath and Laura Woolvardt took up the baton.

McGrath made her fourth consecutive score of 40 or more in T20s, striking three fours and a six in an unbeaten 50 from 39 balls, while South African international Woolvardt was lower key in her 39-ball 36.

The pair put together an unbroken third-wicket stand worth 82 to send the Strikers to victory in the 18th over.
