Young India batsman Prithvi Shaw
India have called young batsman Prithvi Shaw in their squad for the final two Test matches against England, but Murali Vijay has been dropped.
Eighteen-year-old Shaw, who averages 56.72 in first-class cricket, has impressed for India A in recent months and replaces Vijay, who was cut from the starting XI for the victory at Trent Bridge after making a pair at Lord's.
Shaw is unlikely to fight his way into the India side for the fourth Test in Southampton, which is due to start on August 30, after the visitors' top order impressed in Nottingham.
However, the teenager's presence in the squad will give added motivation to the current opening pair - Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul.
Meanwhile, mystery spinner Kuldeep Yadav, whose white-ball form in England saw him brought into the Test squad, has also been dropped.
He has been replaced by another batsman, the 24-year-old Hanuma Vihari.
