Chris Gayle will not play against India or Bangladesh

Chris Gayle has made himself unavailable for West Indies ahead of their limited-overs fixtures against India and Bangladesh.

Gayle has opted to take part in the Afghanistan Premier League and T10 League in the Middle East instead of representing his country.

The Windies have been boosted, however, by the inclusion of allrounder Kieron Pollard in the T20 squad for three games against India, beginning in Kolkata on November 4.

"We will be without our stalwart, Chris Gayle, for this Indian tour and the next tour against Bangladesh as he has declined selection at this time," chairman of selectors Courtney Browne, said in a statement.

"However, he has made himself available for the selection for the visit of England to the Caribbean and the CWC (Cricket World Cup) in 2019."

ODI squad: Jason Holder (c), Fabian Allen, Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Ashley Nurse, Keemo Paul, Rovman Powell, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Oshane Thomas
