England have added the Surrey wicketkeeper to their Sri Lanka Test squad with Jonny Bairstow an injury concern
Surrey wicketkeeper Ben Foakes has been called up by England as cover for Jonny Bairstow in the squad to face Sri Lanka in three Tests.
Bairstow missed the fourth and fifth ODIs and will not feature in Saturday's one-off T20 after injuring his ankle playing football.
The Yorkshire wicketkeeper-batsman faces a race to be fit for the first Test of the series at Galle, with Foakes - who will arrive in Colombo over the weekend - ready to take the gloves if required.
The uncapped Foakes was part of England's Ashes touring party but did not feature in the playing XI as England succumbed to a 4-0 series defeat.
The 25-year-old scored 624 runs at an average of 36.71 in the County Championship this summer as Surrey won their first title since 2002.
The first Test of the series starts on Tuesday November 6.
