Young Warwickshire fast bowler Olly Stone has been called up by England for the 50-over series in Sri Lanka.

Stone, 24, has caught the eye of the selectors with a series of fine performances for his county in 2018 following a frustrating 2017 which was curtailed by injury.

The right-arm quick, who regularly tops speeds of 90mph, avergages 38.86 in List A cricket over the course of his career but is seen as a major prospect in English cricket.

He makes the squad as Liam Plunkett will miss the first three matches of the trip to get married.

Both Sam and Tom Curran also make the 16-man party, the former in place of the injured David Willey who is suffering from a back complaint.

Otherwise, Eoin Morgan will have a very familiar group of players to oversee on the subcontinent.

Liam Dawson, the Hampshire allrounder, is the third spinner in the party, alongside Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, while Durham paceman Mark Wood also features.
