The former England batsman looks ahead to England's Ashes campaign

Few England cricketers have had more of an impact on an Ashes series than Kevin Pietersen in 2005.
His brutal demolition of Australia’s bowling attack, who many consider to be the finest to have played the game, culminated in a match-winning 158 in the 5th Test at The Oval.
Pietsersen then went on to play a starring role as England beat Australia away from home in 2010/11 for the first time in 24 years.
Ahead of the 2021/22 series, Pietersen lends his thoughts to how England can win Down Under.
“The Ashes is something that the fans, the public, the media, all get involved in and you are always reminded of it,” Pietersen told Betway.
“It’s a great feather in the cap to say we beat Australia in Australia. These are historic moments.
“Once you get off to a really good start the public and the media start to question the Australia side. For us to get that draw in Brisbane (in 2010/11) and then to take them apart in Adelaide on that particular tour was where we built up all our momentum.
“It’s vital to make sure that the first Test match doesn’t go pear shaped.”
