New Zealand bowler Tim Southee is fit for the World Cup clash against India at Trent Bridge but the team are yet to decide whether to recall the 30-year-old.

The Kiwis have been without Southee in their opening three fixtures against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan due to a right calf problem, with Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson and Jimmy Neesham making up the seam quartet.

Henry Nicholls has been missing due to a hamstring problem while Ish Sodhi and uncapped wicket-keeper Tom Blundell are also yet to feature.

Southee has 185 one-day international wickets to his name and was expected to work in tandem with Boult during this tournament, but there appears to be little desire to rush him back.

"All 15 are in contention," explained batsman Ross Taylor. "As I said, with the weather around, we don't want to preempt anything, but if there are shortened games and whatnot, that's something the coach and captain will have to decide at the time.

"But we haven't made a decision on our final 11. Hopefully, the weather plays a part tomorrow.

"We haven't seen the wicket. We'll have to wait and see tomorrow. Everyone will be prepared to play. There's a full 15 to choose from.

"I guess we can't look too far ahead, but there are obviously different permutations, different balance of squad if the weather does play a part, whether it's a reduced game or a 50-over game."

India and New Zealand are the only remaining unbeaten sides in the tournament though their match in Nottingham in under threat due to inclement weather which is expected to hit the area on Thursday.
