Chairman Richard Thompson described the donation as "a tiny token of our appreciation for all the work being done to save lives"
Surrey have announced a £10,000 donation to support fundraising efforts around Australia's ongoing bushfire crisis.
The Oval side has frequently welcomed Australian players and staff into its ranks, with Michael Neser and D'Arcy Short two representatives of the country to have signed up with the club for the upcoming county campaign.
The county confirmed to The Cricketer that the donation will be made in partnership with Cricket Australia, following the announcement that proceeds from next month's Big Bash League final will be donated to the Australian Red Cross disaster relief and recovery fund.
Former Surrey and Australia batsman Ricky Ponting will lead an all-star side in a T10 fixture ahead of the final on November 8, with Shane Warne his opposite number after auctioning his Test cap for a record A$1,007,500 (£530,140) to support nationwide relief efforts.
Richard Thompson, the club's chairman, said in a statement: "The images of the suffering and devastation being wrought by the fires that have been beamed across the globe are utterly heartbreaking.
"Surrey CCC has many great friends in Australia and [we] often send our young players to develop their games in the country during the English winter.
"This donation is a tiny token of our appreciation for all the work being done to save lives and limit the damage caused by this tragedy.
"We hope next month's game is a huge success and this wonderful country is able to do everything possible to right itself and help those affected by these fires."
