Pakistan fielding "overweight and cumbersome", says Nasser Hussain

Former England captain Hussain was critical of Pakistan and West Indies fielding efforts in their recent games

Nasser Hussain criticised Pakistan’s fielding at the World Cup thus far as he spoke on commentary during England’s game against Afghanistan.

He described Sarfraz Ahmed’s side as looking “overweight and cumbersome” in the field, while also laying into West Indies’ performance in their defeat against Bangladesh on Monday, calling them “awful”.

Jason Holder’s side was beset by injuries and fitness problems, with Andre Russell hobbling and Shannon Gabriel spending time off the field as Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das put on an unbroken stand of 189 to take Bangladesh to a remarkable win.

On the other hand, however, former England captain Hussain was effusive in his praise of India.

“India’s fitness and fielding has gone exponentially through the roof,” he said.
