Nicholas Pooran and Oshane Thomas receive first Cricket West Indies central contracts

The duo, who were part of Jason Holder's side's World Cup campaign, have been handed central contracts, which run until June 30 next year, for the first time

West Indies batsman Nicholas Pooran and fast bowler Oshane Thomas have been given their first central contracts by Cricket West Indies, it has been announced.

The pair were part of Jason Holder's side's World Cup campaign and alongside Fabian Allen were handed the deals, which run until June 30 2020, for the first time in their careers.

The CWI deals for the men come in categories of all-format, red-ball and white-ball contracts, with Darren Bravo being granted a return with an all-format deal, while the number of women on contracts has increased from 12 to 15.

Among the men's contracts, the number of players on all-format deals has increased from four to seven, with Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul joining Holder, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach.

Fabian Allen received his first ever CWI contract

Opening batsman John Campbell and and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican were given red-ball offers, while Sheldon Cottrell has received a white-ball contract.

Six players who were previously on deals have been omitted, namely Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo, Miguel Cummins, Ashley Nurse, Kieran Powell and Raymon Reifer.

There were also four absentees from the women's contracts list, with Reniece Boyce, Anisa Mohammed, Akeira Peters not offered new deals along with the retired Merissa Aguilleira.
