Former West Indies batter Marlon Samuels has been charged with four anti-corruption breaches.

The charges were brought by the ICC on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board and relate to his participation in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He was involved in the 2019 tournament, representing Karnataka Tuskers, though he did not play a game.

Samuels, who played at international level for the last time in December 2018, has been charged with breaches of four different articles under the competition’s code of conduct.

It is alleged that he has contravened Article 2.4.2, which relates to “failing to disclose to the designated anti-corruption official, the receipt of any gift, payment, hospitality or other benefit that was made or given in circumstances that could bring the participant or the sport of cricket into disrepute”.

Other alleged offences include failing to disclose the “receipt of hospitality with a value of US$750 or more”, failing to cooperate with the investigation of an anti-corruption official and “obstructing or delaying” an investigation by “concealing information that may have been relevant”.
