In an experienced squad, Josh Davey, Michael Leask, George Munsey and Mark Watt were all present at the last T20 World Cup in 2016
Scotland have included former England batsman Jonathan Trott on their coaching staff for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Head coach Shane Burger has named an experienced squad, featuring long-time internationals Kyle Coetzer, Richie Berrington, Calum Macleod, Safyaan Sharif, Matt Cross and Ally Evans, who hold more than 1,000 caps between them.
In addition, Josh Davey, Michael Leask, George Munsey and Mark Watt were all part of Scotland’s squad when the tournament last took place in 2016.
There could be T20 World Cup debuts for up to seven players, however, including Hampshire seamer Brad Wheal, who has enjoyed a terrific season at county level and for London Spirit in The Hundred.
Burger said: “This squad has worked hard over a long period of time now and deserves the opportunity to show the world what we are about. This is an experienced, versatile and exciting group of players and we’re looking forward to embracing the challenges ahead as a team.”

As well as Trott, Scotland’s backroom team includes bowling coaches Craig Wright and Chris Brown.
“What we have in Jonathan Trott is great knowledge and experience of high performance environments,” explained Burger. “He’s played in World Cups, Ashes series and travelled to many destinations around the world.
“He also understands the demands and high pressures of international sport and the environments that they bring with them.”
Gavin Main and Adrian Neill will join Scotland’s squad as part of their preparation to cover for the absences of Davey and Wheal, who will remain with Somerset and Hampshire to complete the county season in England before joining up for the tournament.
