Jofra Archer will make his England debut against Ireland in Malahide on Friday.

Archer was confirmed as a starter for the game by captain Eoin Morgan during a pre-match press conference on Thursday.

The Sussex allrounder has been given the opportunity to force his way into England's World Cup squad by impressing in matches against Ireland and Pakistan over the coming weeks.

He was not picked in the preliminary 15-man group for this summer's tournament but is highly fancied to make the cut when the final squad is confirmed on May 22.

Meanwhile, Dawid Malan of Middlesex and Ben Foakes of Surrey will also receive their first ODI caps against the Irish.

Malan has previously appeared for his country in Test and T20 cricket, while Foakes made his Test debut in Sri Lanka over the winter.

The Surrey wicketkeeper was called up to the squad for the game in Dublin after Sam Billings dislocated his shoulder playing for Kent against Glamorgan.
