India players have been fined 20% of their match fee for having a slow over-rate during the 1st ODI against Australia on November 27.

The match at the Sydney Cricket Ground ran until 11.10pm, an hour past its scheduled finish time.

These ODIs between Australia and India form part of the ICC’s Cricket World Cup Super League and both teams could’ve been handed a points deduction according to the playing conditions.

Playing conditions state: "If, at the end of the match, the over rate calculation determines that a team has bowled one or more overs less than the minimum over rate requirement, that team will incur a deduction of one point per over for each full over the team falls short of its minimum over rate required in a match."

There was no mention of a points deduction for either team in an ICC statement. India have already qualified for the 2023 World Cup by being hosts, but Australia could have been affected later in the competition.
