For those interested in how the batters might go today, the average number of runs scored per session on day two of Edgbaston Tests since 2006 is 74.92 before lunch, 98.64 between lunch and tea, and 88.78 after tea.

Meanwhile, if you're interested in how many times the ball crosses the rope in the day ahead, the average number of fours scored is 31.42, while the average number of sixes is 1.28.

This compares favourably with day one averages of 36.78 for fours, although the first day's average for sixes is 1.42.

For the bowlers, 5.78 wickets have fallen on average to seam on day two of the Birmingham Tests during the same timeframe, with spinners claiming an average of 1.71. This compares with 7.35 to seam and 1.42 to spin on day one.
