Four England players have been named in the ICC men's ODI team of the year, but none make the cut for the equivalent Test XI.

Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes are all included in the limited-overs side, picked for their performances in 2018, during a year in which England hit the top of the world rankings.

India have four representatives - Virat Kohli, who captains the side, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, while New Zealand's Ross Taylor, Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh and Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan are also selected.

Kohli and Bumrah are the only two players to be included in both Test and 50-over teams, while Nathan Lyon is the sole Australian to make either selection. He is picked in a Test bowling attack which also includes Jason Holder of West Indies, South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Abbas of Pakistan and Bumrah.

There are three New Zealanders in the team - Tom Latham, Kane Williamson and Henry Nicholls - and one Sri Lankan in the shape of Dimuth Karunaratne.
