Hambantota: Sri Lanka 187-9, England 188-4 - England won by six wickets

Amy Jones topscored with 54 as England eased to series victory over Sri Lanka.

Jones and opening partner Tammy Beaumont made a chase of 188 look very comfortable on a flat deck, with the pair putting on a first-wicket stand worth 69 in response to Sri Lanka's meagre 187 for 9.

Beaumont made 43 and Lauren Winfield added 44 as the tourists took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match campaign. Earlier, Alex Hartley had led the way with the ball, claiming 3-36 in 10 overs to stifle the home side. Anya Shrubsole and Laura Marsh both took two wickets.

"It wasn't easy out in the field and I think all the bowlers did really well to stick to their plans and keep the pressure on in heat like that," Jones said.

Alex Hartley claimed three wickets for England

"Laura Marsh got us going but every bowler kept it tight and it's not an easy wicket to bowl on. It was nice to see Alex pick up some wickets, and for our bowlers to deliver without Katherine.

"I feel in good form with the bat at the moment and I'm enjoying the fast outfields but any time you pass 50 you do want to go on and make three figures. Hopefully if I keep doing what I'm doing and working hard the rewards will come.

"It's nice to have another two points in the bag in the ICC Women's Championship and it's important to win the series, as well. We've got one more ODI in Colombo and we want to be at our best for that game too."
