Morshead: Dead rubber? No chance!
Eoin Morgan will have a scan on his tight groin after failing to take to the field during England’s defeat by Ireland at Southampton.
Morgan made a magnificent 106 in the first innings of the third ODI at the Ageas Bowl but felt in some discomfort after being dismissed.
He handed captaincy duties over to Moeen Ali, as the Irish chased down their 329-run target to win by three wickets.
Morgan will now be checked by a specialist to determine whether there is any damage to the problem area, but he insisted it was all precautionary.
“We’re not expecting it to be serious,” the England skipper said.
England’s white-ball side are next due to be in action in a T20 international against Pakistan at Emirates Old Trafford on August 28.
