Left-arm seamer Dieter Klein has left Leicestershire after six seasons at the club.

Klein, who featured mostly in first-class cricket after joining the county during the 2016 campaign, played 72 times across all three formats.

Last year, he made his international debut for Germany, while also becoming a fixture in the county’s white-ball sides, taking 45 wickets and helping Leicestershire to T20 Blast quarter-finals in 2018 and 2020.

He said: “It has been a pleasure being part of the club and representing the Foxes family over the last six seasons.

“I would like to thank all the Foxes staff, my teammates and all the fans for all the support over the years. It has been an incredible journey for me since becoming part of the club in 2016.”

Leicestershire head coach Paul Nixon added: “We would like to thank Dieter for all of his commitment, hard work and professionalism over the last six years at Leicestershire.

“He has made many friends on and off the pitch and he is always welcome at the Uptonsteel County Ground.”

Leicestershire also announced on Sunday that Marcus Harris, their overseas batter through 2020, will not be returning next year, having turned down two offers from the club.
