PSL 6 team guide: Quetta Gladiators
Quetta Gladiators will be without Dale Steyn for their first two fixtures of the new Pakistan Super League season.
Steyn has a family commitment which will prevent him joining his teammates in the first week of the competition.
The South African pace bowler, a supplementary pick by the Gladiators for PSL 6, will be absent for the opening match of the tournament against Karachi Kings on Saturday evening, and the clash with Lahore Qalandars on Monday.
He is due to arrive in Karachi, where the first half of the PSL is being staged, on February 22 and is expected to be available to the franchise for the fixture against Peshawar Zalmi on February 26, following a period of quarantine and all the necessary Covid-19 testing.
Steyn has been replaced in the Quetta squad in the interim by allrounder Hassan Khan.
Meanwhile, Islamabad United seamer Akif Javed is recovering from a surgery and will not be available for the PSL.
Zeeshan Zameer has been included in the United squad as Akif’s replacement.
