The West Indies allrounder has been given the all clear after being struck by Hardus Viljoen while playing for Jamaica Tallwahs
Andre Russell has been cleared of any serious injury after being struck on the head during the Caribbean Premier League clash between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Zouks.
The 31-year-old was hit by the right ear from a Hardus Viljoen bouncer in the 14th over of the match as he attempted to pull the short delivery and was immediately floored by the blow.
After having his helmet - which didn't not appear to be fitted with stem guards - removed and undergoing treatment from the physio, Russell retired hurt and attempted to make his way from the field under his own steam.
However, he quickly abandoned those attempts and had to be stretchered from the outfield in a neck brace, before being taken to hospital.
UPDATE: Andre Russell has gone to hospital for a scan. He left the field on a stretcher earlier having been hit on the head by a bouncer.

Jamaican Tallawahs later updated that the West Indies allrounder had "been cleared of any damage" and would continue his recovery at the team's hotel.
Russell's side were eventually beaten by five wickets by the Zouks, their third straight defeat in this year's CPL.
