Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry produced a stunning effort to smash the record for the highest partnership in women's T20 cricket.

The Australia pair scored an unbeaten 199 for Sydney Sixers in their Big Bash League clash with Melbourne Stars, which they won by 45 runs.

Healy, already the world record holder for the most runs in a single women's T20, finished with her third century in the format, smashing four boundaries off the final over to end on 106 off 53 balls.

Partner-in-crime Perry was unable to reach three figures but weighed in with 87 from 68 balls as she celebrated her 29th birthday in style.

Perry now has 279 runs in the WBBL at 139.50, with her career average in the format standing at over 50.

WOMEN'S BIG BASH HUB

"It was good fun out there today," Healy said.

"Pez batted beautifully and I'm grateful that she gave me the opportunity to get a ton.

"I'm enjoying my cricket at the moment. I'm fairly relaxed and in a really enjoyable space at the moment. Hopefully, that can continue."

The effort broke the previous record of 161 set by Rachel Priest and Heather Knight for Western Storm against Yorkshire Diamonds in the now-defunct Kia Super League in 2017.

Mignon du Preez and Meg Lanning's 156 scored in the 2015-16 edition was the previous WBBL record.

Prosscovia Alako and Rita Musamali's 227 for Uganda against Mali remains the highest partnership for any wicket in a women's T20 match.
