Adil Rashid and Gary Ballance have signed new deals with Yorkshire.

England leg-spinner Rashid has agreed a two-year extension for white-ball cricket only, while Balance has signed on in all formats for a further three years.

Rashid, who made his Yorkshire debut in 2006, is currently representing Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League, having taken 232 wickets in T20 cricket through his career, including 65 for at international level. He will join up with Eoin Morgan’s England squad for the T20 World Cup following the conclusion of the IPL.

Ballance last played for England in 2017, having made four hundreds in 23 Tests. He averages 47.31 in first-class cricket and finished the season on a high, making a century against Hampshire and 58 against Warwickshire.

“Adil and Gary are very important players to the team and we look forward to them further contributing for years to come,” said Yorkshire director of cricket Martyn Moxon.

“Both players have been at Yorkshire for many years and have played in some of the most high-pressured matches in world cricket. Their experience and influence are hugely beneficial to the young squad that we are developing across all three competitions.”
