England's Test captain did not feature in the T20I series against India earlier in July
Ben Stokes has not been selected for England's upcoming T20I series against South Africa in order to manage his workload and fitness.
The 31-year-old, who took over as Test skipper in April, will sit out the second edition of The Hundred for the same reason.
After leading the Test side to four consecutive wins earlier this summer, Stokes missed the T20I leg of England's white-ball series against India before returning to play in the ODIs.
He has been named in England's 15-man squad for the ODI series against South Africa, which is scheduled to begin on July 19 in Durham. The two sides will then contest a second day-night game at Emirates Old Trafford on July 22 before finishing the series in Leeds on July 24.
The T20I series will run from July 27-31.
Stokes, who represents Northern Superchargers, made two appearances in The Hundred last year before taking a break from cricket.
