St Lucia: Jamaica Tallawahs 163-8, St Lucia Kings 164-8 - St Lucia Kings won by two wickets

Scorecard

St Lucia Kings claimed their first Caribbean Premier League win of the season with a nervy victory over Jamaica Tallawahs.

The two-time winners had begun with back-to-back victories and looked good for another after making 163 for 8 from their 20 overs.

After the top four were dismissed with only 62 on the board in the ninth over, Raymon Reifer made 62 from 41 balls.

He put on 59 for the fifth wicket with Imad Wasim to carry the Tallawahs innings.

Scott Kuggeleijn dismissed both batters in successive overs to finish with 3 for 44, while David Wiese claimed 2 for 31.

Though a clatter of wickets fell - Kings were 39 for 4 two balls after the end of the powerplay - Johnson Charles played quite a hand, hitting 62 from 39 balls.

But when he departed at the hands of Reifer his side still needed 50 from 5.2 overs.

Wiese began the comeback, hitting fours off Mohammad Amir and Dwaine Pretorius as the rain began to fall.

The Namibia international survived a chance that went for another boundary before Alzarri Joseph's maximum appeared to settle the contest.

Joseph (9) would perish with Kings still requiring eight from five balls but Kuggeleijn (5*) kept his nerve to find the rope from the third delivery of the final over to secure victory.
