St Lucia: St Lucia Kings 169-6, Barbados Royals 175-4 - Barbados Royals won by six wickets

Scorecard

Barbados Royals maintained their winning start to the Caribbean Premier League by completing the double against St Lucia Kings.

Kings were beaten by 11 runs via the DLS method last weekend but looked better placed to stake a challenge after making 169 for 6 from their 20 overs.

They were reduced to 90 for 5 but Tim David (40) and David Wiese (28*) put on 79 for the sixth wicket.

Hayden Walsh was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 19 including 11 dot balls from his four overs.

Though Royals lost Quinton de Kock (0) in the first over as he edged behind to Niroshan Dickwella off Alzarri Joseph, they quickly rallied.

Kyle Mayers and Corbin Bosch made 84 in eight overs before David Miller crashed 29 in 18 deliveries to make light work of a tough chase.

Joseph took 3 for 32, dismissing Mayers (33), Bosch (81) and Azam Khan (13) but his teammates were unable to offer support.

Mark Deyal went for 31 in 15 balls and Scott Kuggeleijn shipped 33 in three overs.

Miller wrapped up victory in fitting fashion, lashing a six over deep midwicket to secure victory with six wickets and nine balls to spare.

The results leave Royals top of the table on eight points, already four adrift of second-place Jamaica Tallawahs having played a game more. Kings, meanwhile, are facing a tough campaign with just two points from their four matches.
