St Lucia: Barbados Royals 194-4, Trinbago Knight Riders 51-7 - Barbados Royals won by 80 runs (DLS)

Scorecard

Barbados Royals crushed Trinbago Knight Riders in a rain-effected Caribbean Premier League contest on St Lucia.

The Royals maintained their 100 per cent start to the campaign by securing a third straight victory, as David Miller and Kyle Mayers led the way with the bat before the bowlers turned the screw at the Daren Sammy Stadium.

Miller struck two sixes and five fours in making 60 from 36 balls, while Mayers hit 52 from 33 deliveries, as the Royals cruised to 194 for 4 in their 20 overs at the CPL's fastest-scoring venue.

Mayers shared in a first-wicket stand worth 85 in 9.2 overs with Quinton de Kock (44) to set the tone, before Miller took over through the middle overs.

Only Sunil Narine (1-23 from four overs) and Kieron Pollard (0-28 from four) returned respectable figures for the Knight Riders, while Jason Holder bullied 14 from four balls at the death to make the chase that bit more difficult.

The rain arrived but did not wipe out any overs, only for Trinbago to collapse when play could resume.

Just one batsman - Colin Munro - reached double figures and the New Zealander only made 12, as Trinbago lost wickets at very regular intervals.

Obed McCoy and Oshane Thomas picked up two each, as did Devon Thomas with his part-time spin. Trinbago were red-faced on 51 for 7 when the showers returned, and eventually curtailed proceedings. They were a long way short of the DLS target at the eight-over mark.

Barbados march on.
