WATCH: Rory Burns wandered a long way across his stumps, his front leg planting outside off to leave him horribly off-balance
England's Ashes campaign got off to the worst possible start as the tourists lost a wicket with the first delivery of the series in Brisbane.
Rory Burns was bowled around his legs by Mitchell Starc to become just the fourth batsman to be dismissed to the first ball of an Ashes Test in 140 years.
Burns wandered a long way across his stumps, his front leg planting outside off to leave him horribly off-balance.
And when Starc got a modicum of late swing, what looked like a simple leg-stump half-volley had a devastating effect.
It was Burns' sixth Test duck of the calendar year. Only Jasprit Bumrah has more.
Starc wheeled away in delight, the Gabba erupted. England, after all their difficulties in getting gametime into the touring players, immediately found themselves on the back foot.
And the situation got worse for England soon after, when Dawid Malan edged Josh Hazlewood behind to Alex Carey and Hazlewood had Joe Root caught at first slip to leave the away side 11 for 3.
