The Cricketer

The Event:

With the Ashes on the horizon The Cricketer invites you to a special live event with three Notts and England Legends. Join us at the Poppy and Pint in Nottingham on Wednesday 20th September for what will be a memorable evening recollecting past Ashes feats and looking forward to the forthcoming series, the first under Joe Root’s captaincy.

Confirmed to speak, alongside compère Simon Hughes:

  • Derek Randall, Notts and England.
  • Eddie Hemmings, Notts and England.
  • Chris Broad, Notts and England and current ICC Match Referee.
Attend on 20th September and pose your questions to the panel and hear them discuss:

  • Recollections of England’s Ashes campaigns in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s.
  • Randall on the Centenary Test and facing Lillee and Thomson in their pomp.
  • Broad on the hugely successful ’86-87 tour, a team journalist Martin Johnson declared had three things wrong with them: "They can't bat, they can't bowl, and they can't field."
  • Hemmings on falling five runs short of an Ashes century and taking on Australia in a World Cup Final at Eden Gardens.
  • Memories of county cricket: winning trophies for Notts under legendary skipper Clive Rice.

Please do join us for what should be a wonderful evening - but please note tickets are strictly limited - so book now to avoid disappointment.
