The Cricketer is delighted to invite you to an evening of
conversation, recollection and laughter in the company of Graham Gooch.
Throughout an illustrious career with Essex, Graham won a string of County Championships as well as being part of three Ashes series wins with England. Goochie scored more runs across all forms of top level cricket than anyone else and was England’s record scorer in Test cricket until recently passed by his protégé Alastair Cook, whose career he has been invaluable to as a batting coach with Essex and England.
Graham will be sharing his memories and experience and answering your questions.
The evening will be chaired by our editor, Simon Hughes, the esteemed analyst from Channel 5’s cricket coverage, who will bring his own inimitable knowledge and insight to the evening. Join us in London on Thursday 16th March and:
Listen to Simon interview Graham about his time
playing for and coaching England and Essex.
reflect on his life in cricket,
how it has changed over the years and what the future holds
Ask him your own questions
– What does he think was his finest innings? Who were the most intimidating bowlers he ever faced? How did he balance the England captaincy with prolific run scoring? Who was the most difficult player he captained? How does he reflect on his time coaching England and the 2013/14 Ashes series?
How does he reflect on his protégé Alastair Cook's time as England captain?
Please do join us for what should be a wonderful evening - but please note
tickets are strictly limited - so book now to avoid disappointment.
The doors will open at 6.30pm and the event will begin at 7pm and finish at 8.30pm.
