Injured White to miss Leics double-header
By Paul Bolton
Leicestershire will be without all-rounder Wayne White for their Clydesdale Bank 40 matches against Worcestershire at Grace Road tomorrow (July 14) and Middlesex at Uxbridge on Sunday.
White has been ruled out with a shoulder injury which he sustained against Holland in Amstelveen earlier in the week when Leicestershire finally got off the mark in the 40-over competition under their new one-day captain Josh Cobb.
They hope that White will be fit to play in next Wednesday’s LV= County Championship match against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham College.
All-rounder Shiv Thakor and batsman Will Jones have both been added to the squad for the weekend’s two CB40 games.
Thakor has just finished his exams at Uppingham School and Jones is back with the county for the rest of the season having completed his studies at Cardiff University.
Jones enhanced his chances of playing against Worcestershire by making 92 in the drawn Second XI Championship match against a strong Derbyshire side at Derby earlier in the week.
