Ambrose rested for early t20 games
By Paul Bolton
Warwickshire have decided to give former England wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose a break from their early Friends Life t20 group matches.
Ambrose had major surgery on a hip injury during the winter and only regained full fitness just before the start of the season.
He has had a busy start to the season and sat out tonight’s t20 opener against Somerset at Taunton, with understudy Richard Johnson given the chance to impress.
Former Surrey batsman Laurie Evans, who has yet to appear in the first team this season, was also included in a 13-man squad for the trip to Taunton as reward for some consistent performances in the second team.
