Sussex give chance to Miller
By Bruce Talbot
Sussex are giving a trial to former Lancashire and Warwickshire seamer Andrew Miller on their pre-season tour to Dubai.
Miller, a former England U-19s player who left Warwickshire at the end of last season, is included in a 16-man squad who will defend the Emirates T20 Trophy and play 40 over games against MCC YPs and Lancashire before a two-day match against the Red Rose.
Missing from the squad are England pair Matt Prior and Monty Panesar and Luke Wright, who is heading to India to join up with Pune Warriors ahead of the IPL. New signings Rory Hamilton-Brown and Chris Jordan are on the trip along with Amjad Khan, who is recovering from winter knee injury which will rule him out until May.
New skipper Ed Joyce and Matt Machan are already in the UAE playing for Ireland and Scotland respectively and will join up with the squad when they arrive next Tuesday.
Sussex's first game is a T20 against Lancashire on March 21.
