NFL stars help Yorkshire preparations

Part of Yorkshire’s pre-season preparations will involve a spot of American football after the club revealed that some of the Minnesota Vikings NFL squad will be coming to Headingley later this month.

The White Rose county, who last week announced they have re-branded themselves as the Vikings in limited-overs cricket, have agreed to let the Americans use the Long Room at Headingley to host a fans‘ forum on the evening of Wednesday March 27 as they tour the UK to promote their match against Pittsburgh Steelers at Wembley in late September.

Around 300 NFL fans will be able to purchase tickets for the event, while Yorkshire have their own allocation which will be put in a ballot to members.

Earlier in the day, some of Yorkshire’s players, who will have just returned from their pre-season tour of Barbados, will meet some of their Minnesota counterparts and try their hand at American football. The Minnesota players will also be put through their paces with a bat and ball.

Minnesota will also be holding forums in Dublin, Manchester and London throughout that week.
