Toumazi is new Sussex chief executive
By Bruce Talbot
Sussex are today unveiling Zac Toumazi as their new chief executive. Toumazi was at Surrey for six years as the county's group commercial director before taking up a similar role at Hampshire two years ago, where he played a key role in establishing the Rose Bowl as a Test venue.
Before moving into cricket he worked in the financial services sector with Citigroup and Goldman Sachs. He succeeds Dave Brooks, who is stepping down after four years at Hove. Brooks this week accepted a non-executive unpaid role on the Guernsey Cricket Board.
Sussex chairman Jim May said: "Dave Brooks leaves us in great shape this month after four outstanding years as chief executive, and we had a very strong group of candidates who applied to succeed him.
“We are very pleased to appoint Zac as we believe his commercial experience, cultural fit and passion for cricket give him the credentials to ensure that Sussex Cricket continues to lead the way both on and off the pitch.”
Toumazi said: “I am very excited about being appointed chief executive. I look forward to working with the entire team taking Sussex Cricket forward while preserving the values that make it so special.” He will take up his new post next month.
