New major sponsor for Leicestershire

Leicestershire have unveiled Global Payments as their new major sponsor on a two-year deal. Global Payments, who were formerly known as HSBC Merchant Services, is a global business specialising in payment processing for merchants, ranging in size from multinationals to owner-managed businesses.

Mike Siddall, Leicestershire's chief executive, said: “It is fantastic that Global Payments have decided to become our main club sponsors. We have had a terrific relationship with the company over the last few years and we very much look forward to it continuing.”

The company has been a supporter of Leicestershire since their sponsorship began in 2010 and has included funding for the Indoor Cricket School as well as the Family Stand at Grace Road.

Managing director of Global Payments, Chris Davies, said: “Sponsoring the club has given Global Payments a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the local community. We hope our support can help Leicestershire to build on their 2012 season into next year.”

The announcement of the new sponsorship deal comes only four days after Leicestershire confirmed the appointment of former West Indies batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan as their new County Championship captain.
