Hampshire offer Riazuddin one-year extension
By Bruce Talbot
Hampshire all-rounder Hamza Riazuddin has signed a new one-year deal with the club. Riazuddin, 22, played four LV County Championship matches at the beginning of last season and was then restricted to only two Clydesdale Bank 40 appearances and no Friends Life t20 outings as Hampshire won the limited-overs domestic double.
But he is confident he can still establish himself in Hampshire’s first team alongside the likes of former academy teammates Danny Briggs, Liam Dawson, Chris Wood, James Vince and Michael Bates.
He said: “I would love to have a long career at Hampshire. It’s my home, it’s where I grew up and I’ve had a lot of backing here in terms of development.
“I want to make it work and I’ll do everything I can to achieve that. I still think there’s a great chance to do that and that’s why I’ve signed.”
