All-rounder Adkin released by Sussex

Sussex have released all-rounder Will Adkin after three seasons on their professional staff. At 6ft 10in, Adkin was an unmistakable figure on the field but he has struggled to break into the side since making his debut in 2010, after progressing through the county's youth system.

There was a hint of a bright future when Adkin made a composed 45 on his County Championship bow at Guildford against Surrey and although he figured in Sussex's last match of 2012, against Durham in the Championship, it was his only first-team appearance of the season.
 
Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson said: “Opportunities were limited last year for Will and seemed likely to be again next season. With that in mind we feel that it would be best for him to seek openings elsewhere."
