WICKET - Kent v Derbyshire

Kent lose two wickets in the space of three balls to slip to 329-6. Sam Northeast's six-hour stay ended when he cut a wide one from Ross Whiteley into the hands of Usman Khawaja at wide third man to go for a championship best 165 from 306 balls with 14 fours and two sixes. That ended a fifth-wicket stand of 123 in 32 overs with Michael Powell, who has since moved to a 103-ball 50, with four fours and a six. Three balls after Northeast's demise, Darren Stevens miscued an attempted sweep against David Wainwright to loop a catch to Wes Durston, who ran from slip to leg-slip in order to take the catch.
