    England won the Test and the series 2-0 after their openers led a leisurely pursuit of 108 runs to beat West Indies by nine wickets. A game which had been in the balance yesterday afternoon thus came to a swift conclusion. It is the first time England have beaten West Indies at Trent Bridge.

  • DAY 3 REPORT - England v West Indies

    England wrested complete control of this Test match but not quite in the way expected on another cloudless day. West Indies took five wickets for 104 runs before Tim Bresnan and Stuart Broad helped England to a 58-run lead. Then the pressure - and the superb trio of Broad, Bresnan and James Anderson - told on a fragile West Indies batting order. They finished the day on 61-6, just three runs ahead.

  • END OF DAY REPORT - England v West Indies
    Two very different hundreds for two very different captains, but it is Andrew Strauss, not Darren Sammy, whose side has the initiative going into the third day. Strauss (102*) and Kevin Pietersen (72*) made merry in another barnstorming evening session to leave England only 111 runs behind with eight wickets in hand.
