All-rounder needs to recover form with the ball ahead of the third Ashes Test

Moeen Ali will captain England in a three-day game against a Cricket Australia XI in Perth this week.

The all-rounder is one of six members of the Ashes squad to be included in the England XI for the game at Richardson Park.

However, he is the only member of the side beaten by Australia in Adelaide to get another run out.

Jake Ball, Ben Foakes, Gary Ballance, Tom Curran and Mason Crane also feature, while six members of the England Lions squad, including seamer Mark Wood, are drafted in.

Moeen, who skippers his country for the first time, will be keen to find form with the ball after a disappointing start to the Ashes.

He has taken just two wickets at 98 apiece from his 63 overs, spread over two matches, though he has at times struggled with a cut and blistering to the index finger of his right hand.
